Whyndam

We camped up at the 5 Rivers Lookout, you get a really good view up here. Whyndam is surrounded by tidal flats and has big tides. You can see the pontoon floating up higher with the tide. They are building a new Jetty, because you can't go onto the Wharf as it is a working wharf.
When we were there, they had a ship load of cattle waiting in the pens to be loaded for Indonesia. This was the first load to be sent over since the ban. They also have an iron ore conveyor belt straight out to the boat, this was being trucked in from the Argyle Diamond Mine. The diesel was much cheaper in Whyndam than Kununurra!

I took a pic of this WILLY WILLY. They are common out here.
We actually had one go through the van,as we could not get it closed in time. I had just washed and hung out clothes, and we were parked next to burnt ground. The van was a mess & some wet clothes were beyond cleaning!

The old Telegraph Station is out of Whyndam a bit.
Another pic of Mirima NP.
