Is so named because of the discovery of what was thought to be Marble but is actually Jasper. Jasper is in layers and pretty soft so can only be tumbled and made into jewelry. Would make a nice benchtop. We vivited th Comet ex gold mine, plenty if history & still gold around MB. It is now aMining hamlet with many Mines around the area, whom all cart into Pt Hedland. OUr hottest days so far, but not sultry like Darwin.
